1950s SHELDON MOTEL, Sheldon, Iowa - Unused Full-Color Postcard
Here's a very nice unused glossy postcard featuring an aerial view of the Sheldon Motel, "Half way between Chicago and Black Hills", in Sheldon, Iowa. The front of the card includes a couple of American Automobile Association (AAA) logos.
The card was published by Geo. H. Jung Co., Cincinnati 2, Ohio. It bears a code number of "15,760F".
The description on the back reads: "CAPRI OF THE MID-WEST" / "Welcome Travelers" / "For the 'Rest' of Your Life'"
"30 Luxurious Units, Each With Phone & T.V., Shower or Tub. Hot Water Heated, Simmons Furnished with Beautyrest, Lawn Park, Air-Conditioning Optional, Kitchenette, Recreation Lobby, Complimentary Tickets for Golfing. Free Taxi Service for Guests arriving by Plane, Bus or Train. U.S. 18 & Ia. 18. Sheldon, Iowa. Mr. & Mrs. Paul Siegert, Owners & Managers. PHONE 81."
Size: 3½" x 5½"
Date: Not dated but I'm fairly certain the card is from the 1950s.
Condition: Fine, I'd say. The card is unused, but the corners have very faint diagonal impressions due to storage in a traditional postcard album. There's also a small amount of foxing on the back. (Please see scans).
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
