These sets of plates were made in occupied Japan by Madson China. Both are marked on the back and have hangers already on them. They are both 8 1/2 inches in diameter. Each has a simple scene, the first one is of a path through two trees, with a small boat going onto a lake. With a slight hint of a sunset. The second is a picture of a steep hill with trees, green grass, mountains in the background and lightly painted clouds. I think these were also called tea plates. They are in wonderful condition and would make a great addition to any plate collection or for any collector of occupied japan items.
