PATTERN: World's Fair, Century of Progress
MAKER: Exposition & Century Silverplate
SIZE: 5.75 - 6 inches
DESCRIPTION/CONDITION: The 3 spoons are: New York World's Fair of 1939 showing the Theme Building and Maritime Building; The California International Exposition of 1939, also considered a World's Fair, showing Treasure Island where it was held commemorating the historic construction of the Golden Gate Bridge; and Chicago's A Century of Progress, 1834 - 1934, showing the Hall of Science on the handle and Fort Dearborn in the bowl and Black Partridge, a Potawatomi Chief who was opposed to the attack on Fort Dearborn.
The New York spoon shows no sign of plate loss and is in very good condition. The Golden Gate spoon shows some heel wear but otherwise in very good condition. The Fort Dearborn spoon has a large spot of plate wear on the heel and some on the back, upper edge of the handle, but no other problems. None have any pitting or corrosion. They were polished but still have a bit of tarnish left to clean.
