This double bar pin is made of two angular bars of textured gold plate that have a rope of gold plate wrapping around them. The pin is 3.5 inches across. It has a long safety clasp on the back and is marked Keyes. Condition is near mint.
Keyes was a Belgian fine jewelry designer who switched to costume jewelry for the freedom it offered. He set up shop in Montreal, Canada and worked with jewelry designers such as Boucher and Sherman. His crystal set pieces were considered the equal of Sherman's. Keyes work is known for its very heavy gold plating and excellent quality crystals. His studio was open from 1962 until the end of the 90s.
