In the aftermath of a nuclear war, the world is populated by small tribes of humans as well as mutated plants and animals. Born to the peaceful N'Yark tribe in what was once New York City, young Samson possesses the strength and agility of 10 men! It is no problem for him to lift a car or catch a spear in flight. When his mother is killed by warlike invaders, Samson vows to use his powers to "protect the weak from the powerful, the good from the evil"! 8 - Dec. 1966 - VG/FN! This kicks off with a great George Wilson painted cover! "The Migration Mystery!" opens with "I...hear...voice...calling...me!" Samson and others are possessed by an inescapable urge to walk northward, into the polar regions. Only by gathering food as they walk can they survive. At last they arrive at a massive rock in the Arctic Ocean -- the Mental North Pole of Earth. Mindor concludes that during the atomic war, it was contaminated so as to emit telepathic waves! To free them from the spell of the stone, Mindor gathers materials and organizes the production of gunpowder! Almost at the cost of his life, Samson sinks the stone and blows it up. The friends are delighted to get back to N'Yark, where the jungle is warm! "The Battle of Monsters!" stars Tom Morrow, as a huge monster menaces Ultra City, Tom exhausts himself using his mental powers, but fails to drive it away. With his last strength he creates a mental mirage of an even bigger monster, driving off the attacker and leaving the city safe! "The Palace at Knossos" is a text article! From ancient days men sang of the hero, Theseus, who sailed to the fables island of Crete where he slew the mighty minotaur in the labyrinth of King Minos, Fact piece about ancient Crete with a small illustration!
13 - Feb. 1968 - GD. "The Prophet of Zomzu" sees Nightfall in N'Yark brings a darkness that is total and absolute except for a few wisps of eerie, glowing radioactive mist, for in this city that was once as bright by night as it was by day, no electric light has burned for countless years...The High Priest Merlyn the Magic Maker uses forgotten technology in N'Yark to convince his tribe to make him their leader. Mindor tries to counter Merlyn's magic with "magic" of his own provided by Mighty Samson! Mindor and Merlyn engage in a contest to see who can present the most impressive "magic" from the old technology and the battle begins! "The Plunging Peril" sees Tom Morrow uses his mental powers to prevent a falling satellite from crashing into Ultra City!
