Interested overseas buyers, please use the "Ask us a question" link above to enquire about shipping.
Often found wild along forest edges in the northern province and eastern cape of South Africa at low altitudes, Hibiscus pedunculatus is fast-growing sparesely branched shrub increasingly gaining acceptance as a garden ornamental. Though not flamboyant with huge flowers like many in its genus, its dainty petite nature and generous blooming ability even in light shade earns it a spot in any yard. With a long flowering season from spring to late fall, this hardy evergreen produces clear pink flowers each lasting only one day, but in such abundance that it is a constant treat to the bees and butterflies. Tri-lobed toothed leaves. Hardy from zone 5 onwards. 5 feet tall, 3 feet wide. Full sun to light shade. Well-drained soil. Usually available in plants/cuttings forms. Hard-to-find seeds, harvested 07/2025 & 09/2025.
