From 1944 to 1947 he worked in the studio of the master Mariano Bertuchi, a Spanish painter active mainly in Morocco. In 1948 he moved to Madrid to continue his pictorial training and entered the Real Academia de Bellas Artes of St Fernando where he was a pupil of José Manaut Viglietti, in turn a disciple of Joaquín Sorolla at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de St Carlos in Valencia . Like many Spanish painters of his era, in its production the influence of Sorolla is evident and due to its origins the orientalist theme is also recurrent.
