Broadleaf semi-evergreen perennial vine with green foliage and orange flowers. The narrowly funnel-shaped flowers appear in rounded clusters from late spring to fall. Bomarea grows wild in the Andes, in Colombia and Venezuela. Should be grown in sandy soil in a sunny site. Give ample water in the growing season. Height to 20ft. Zone 10–11, surviving 30°F of overnight frost, greenhouse or container. Tolerant of summer drought if well mulched.
