Thanks to its porosity, naturally-occurring Agate can be readily dyed or stained.
Agate is a type of Chalcedony with prominent bands, but sometimes, these colorful patterns are artificially enhanced to get a more marketable product. Dyed Agate is produced this way and comes in many bright and vivid colors that follow the natural pattern of the stone.
