This item is a rare, unread and vintage THIRD WORLD publication titled BLACK KNIGHTS 2 featuring photography of black men from THIRD WORLD STUDIO photographer JIM JAEGER. This magazine was produced in 1977 and it is still in UNREAD condition. This item is DEADSTOCK and the original distributor never sold it; it has been in storage for over 50 years.
When European explorers first penetrated the African continent centuries ago they were surprised and impressed by the colorful knights found in a number of the old kingdoms.
According to an account written by a British group: "... The African knights were inhabited in coats of mail composed of iron chain which covered them from the throat to the knees. Their horses moved with great precision and expertness. The horsemen rushed at the explorers again and again, in a series of mock charges, shouting welcome. They combined a knightly courtesy with a defiant pride-very much the appearance of a declaration of contempt for our weakness."
We hope that these pages of young black men, flaunting their manly beauty in a display of defiant pride will impress the modern viewer of our updated BLACK KNIGHTS 2.
The studio was created in 1976 by Caucasian photographer James L. Jaeger. He had been photographing models of African descent since the 1950s. The photographs sold by Third World were primarily taken by Jaeger, but also included the works of Miles Everitt and Alan Boone. The studio operated from 1976 through 1981. On April 19, 1981, Jaeger was MURDERED by one of his models.
ALL MODELS IN THIS MAGAZINE ARE CERTIFIED BY THE PUBLISHERS TO BE OVER THE LEGAL AGE OF 18, AS REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW.
Due to recent delivery issues with the USPS I now ship all magazines, digests and paperback books via Priority Mail. Up to $100 of insurance is included in this price.
