Vintage Dutch Couple Planter Possibly Hedi Schoop California Pottery
This vintage ceramic planter is shaped like a loving Dutch Couple and the man is holding a yellow basket.
The back side of the couple has an opening for holding and growing a house plant in it.
The plant holder is in great condition, with no chips, cracks or soil residue on it.
It does have several lines of crazing, but the crazing isn't discolored.
The planter is done in white, blue, yellow and pink colors.
The couple's eyes are brown and are hand painted onto their faces.
The planter is 6.25 inches tall, 7 inches wide and it is 4 inches deep.
The opening on the back side for planting is 2 by 1.25 inches in size.
The yellow ceramic basket also has an opening at the top and something could be placed inside of it if so desired.
The bottom of the planter is merely marked in blue with the letter H under the clear glaze.
The planter is made in the style of many vintage California Pottery companies.
The letter H mark could possibly refer to Hedi Schoop or maybe not.
The planter does look like her style of ceramic pottery to me.
