This is a rare unread and out of print copy of ATTITUDE: AN ADULT PAPER DOLL BOOK was written/complied by TOM TIERNEY and published and distributed by ST. MARTIN'S PRESS in 1979. This 80 page softcover book is unread but the glue is coming loose on the binding. See photos for condition.
“A humorous look and gay and lesbian stereotypes in 1979. Each body type is provided with a few costumes. The author says he imagined a cocktail party, a situation in which "attitude" could be displayed. Instructions are provided for mounting each paper doll on a small easel for display."
SO THEY DIDN'T LET YOU PLAY WITH PAPERDOLLS WHEN YOU WERE A KID.
THEY'LL BE SORRY.
ATTITUDE: a posture of the body proper to or implying some action or mental state. To strike an attitude: to assume it theatrically. A word recently seized by the gay world for its own nefarious purposes.
Attitude means to project very directly one's opinions and feelings about one's milieu to all viewers with little more than a gesture, a stance, a look. For this reason, Attitude is particularly useful at parties where one is meeting a motley assort-nient of people.
And a motley crew it is, assembled here by Auntie Mary and her co-host Tom Tierney for the chic-est shindig given this autumn on the fabulous Manhattan cocktail circuit. The guest list is to die: movie stars, hairdressers, children's book editors. writers, painters. Seventh Avenue types, Madison Avenue types, models, PR men, decorators, millionaires, Broadway gypsies, trend-setters and tricks galore.
Don't miss it for the world. Auntie Mary invites you all to "en-joy darlings. This is decadence!"
