This is a rare unread and out of print copy of BLAKE LITTLE: DICHOTOMY was written/complied by BLAKE LITTLE and published and distributed by STATE OF MAN in 1996 and features the nude male photography of photographer BLAKE LITTLE. This 82 page hardcover book measures 11.34 x 0.59 x 11.26 inches. See photos for condition.
ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER:
Blake Little is an award-winning Los Angeles-based photographer. He attended the University of Washington and Seattle Central College. Little moved to Los Angeles and became part of the art scene, shooting portraits of David Hockney, John Baldessari and Ed Ruscha and others. The acclaimed series lead to years of commercial assignments in entertainment and advertising.
Little’s photography has been exhibited in New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, Portugal, &Japan and has resulted in six monographs: Dichotomy (1997), The Company of Men (2011), Manifest (2013), Preservation (2015) Photographs from the Gay Rodeo (2016) and Work (2017).In 2012, Little received a Canadian grant to photograph western culture in Alberta. The exhibit, New West traveled in Canada from 2012-2015. His 2014 museum show Blake Little: Photographs from the Gay Rodeo 1988-1992 was curated by the Eiteljorg Museum and traveled to 10 museums and arts institutions.
Little’s Preservation work captured international attention with gallery show at the Kopeikin Gallery in LA. The accompanying video caused a sensation with over 3.8 million views on YouTube. Preservation won American Photo AP29 & Int’l Photography/Lucie Foundation Awards.
In 2018, Little’s series Concealed: Portraits of LGBT Gun Owners was winner in American Photo AP34. In 2019 Concealed was a Special Projects & Audience Choice Award winner at the International Pride Photo Award. January 2020, Little’s current Fluid project, documenting the transgender communities opened at the University of Victoria Legacy Gallery. In 2020 Blake will publish Primary his 7th monograph.
