A. Cutler & Son mechanical swivel, ebony and gilt incised, walnut drop leaf Victorian parlor table: “hinged leaves hung to a stationary top, and two rigid legs arranged at diagonally-opposite corners while the legs at the other corners” pivot to an open position to support the leaves. Two recessed ebony and gilt incised, carved drawers in a ebony and gilt incised carved edge inset felt covered top. Ebony and gilt incised carved, tapered, fluted, and turned legs and fluted stretcher with carved finial. Four wooden wheeled metal casters marked GMC PAT. 1871. Drawers stenciled, on bottom, “Manufactured by A. Cutler & Son Buffalo N. Y. patented March 24, 1874.” Dimensions: 28 1/2” height, 13 1/2” width (closed), 36” length and diameter (open).
Condition: one drawer has crack in bottom of drawer, otherwise no chips, other cracks, or restoration.
This piece will need to be tightened up after truck delivery due to vibration on route.
