Cruz and Ben Oda show in stark reality of how hard the times were in the old West, as Hex is hired by town officials to stop a Savage Indian who is murdering several prominent citizens--but then Hex finds out the real reason for the Brave's ritualistic murders!!!
30 - Nov. 1979 - VG - "Birth of a Bounty Hunter!" with Luiz Dominguez art sees Jonah hunting a Bank Robber while we learn his true Origin!!
31 - Dec.1979 - FN/VF - "Arbee Stoneham---Mankiller!" sees Jonah Hex's first Bounty Hunting assignment with Luiz Dominguez art !!
32 - Jan. 1980 - VF/NM - "Gunfight at Murphysboro!" by Michael Fleisher, Jose Luiz Garcia Lopez, Todd Klien and Bob LeRose sees Jonah Hex in action during the Civil War, honing his killing skills!
