This item is a rare and vintage ACME /HEALTH KNOWLEDGE, INC publication titled THE VIKINGS Vol.1 No.1 - Summer 1964 featuring “18+” physique photography of muscular young guys in posing straps from all the greatest Scandinavian countries. It also contains similar artwork and figure drawings from the period as well. This magazine was produced in 1964. See photos for condition. Cover shows wear.

“At the age of 17 a young man often pretends he is a boxer, a cowboy, a tough guy, a dancer or a musi-cian-as shown on this and the following five pages plus the front and back cover. Also page 2 shows Glenn in a moody pose. Glenn is a newcomer to the physique field and trains very hard in order to keep a fine proportioned body. One of his ambitions is to be a good fashion model.”

“The old Vikings lived in Scandinavia about 900 years after Christ and they are said to have been a very tough and a hard-headed people. Also, they were very tall, blond and handsome men.
Well, blond they were and also handsome but mostly not as tall as the stories tell. In fact, some of them were very short. But tough they were and they were our first travelers on the oceans.

They invaded the north coast of Germany, Normandy in France and far away Italy; and even in Turkey you may find traces of their ravages.

On these pages we want to present to you the Vikings of today, in a manner we have tried to keep as artistic as possible, and we have also tried to give you the personality of each of the models.”
