“The odor of straining, muscular bodies sweating in the hot summer sun; the acrid smells of grease, oil and macadam; the macho atmosphere of the firehouse: the pungent essence of the prizefighter's jock: in short, the sensuous, exciting world of the working man is brought sharply into focus in the following pages of Target's newest magazine: RAMROD! Get comfortable, let yourself go and turn the pages slowly. The parade of working-class heroes is about to unfold.”
PART 1 -- THE YARD
"The American construction worker is probably closest to the pinnacle of the male fantasy syndrome than any of the other "blue collar" workers in the world. For this reason, we devote the first part of this magazine to a road gang, catching this particularly lusty group during their lunch break when, shielded from prying eyes, they converge upon The Yard, as their home base is called, for lunch and a little "horseplay." We guarantee that the next time you pass one of these crews on the road they won't look quite the same to you as they did before!”
PART 2 -- AMERICAN IDOLS
"In this section we follow the colorful career of Brian Dexter as he assumes the various guises of truck driver, farmboy (no hayseed, he!), lumberjack and other occupations of which dreams are made, all of which call for that spectacular displav of muscle and sinew at which Brian obviously excels. And, speaking of muscle, his cohorts in this section leave very little to be desired!”
