"Loneliness had become a way of life I was almost growing used to. I might not have recognized another way of life had Andrew not made it all so clear to me. From the instant we met he poured love into the vacuum of my soul and I sucked it into my body gluttonously, craving more and more and still more. But when he left me I was more alone than ever before.
I could not force my mind to focus on a single thought other than Andrew. The emptiness was far too conspicuous to even try to forget his warm, moist lips; his elastic body, rippled with muscles; his tender touch. Above all, I could not forget his passionate love for me.
Wandering aimlessly into the bowels of downtown Los Angeles, I found it easy to identify with the suffering inhabitants of skid row. Indeed, as I left, I found myself envying them.
And then I met George. He was rugged, he was handsome, and his personality was forceful; just what I needed. A sudden burst of life overcame me. Little did I realize it was to leave me just as suddenly.“
