Description: Victorian Trade Card - CHICORÉE A LA FRANÇAISE - Paul Mairesse, Cambrai (Nord), France

Interesting vintage French advertising card featuring a well-dressed young woman riding a bicycle. She's apparently being chased by an unseen dog. The caption reads: "Cycliste effrayée par un chien!" I believe the card as originally issued only had color at the left, with the coloring of the right side being left up to person acquiring it.

The back is covered with typical advertising (in French, of course) for the product.

Condition: Good, I'd say. This card is somewhat soiled, with slightly worn edges and corners. There's a very tiny tear (less than 1/8") in the top edge. (Please see scans.)
