CHOCOLAT-LOUIT Victorian Trade Card - angry artist, geese, umbrella
Description: Victorian Trade Card - CHOCOLAT-LOUIT - Louit Freres & Co., Bordeaux, France
Humorous vintage French advertising card for Chocolat-Louit featuring an artist whose canvas has been destroyed by a goose poking its head through it. There's a red umbrella providing some shade. The caption reads: "Les dangers du plein air...".
The back is covered with typical advertising (in French, of course) for the product.
Size: approx. 2.5" x 4.125"
Date: Not dated.
Lithographer: Not identified.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The front of this card is only lightly soiled, while the back has a light coating of glue residue and one small patch of a hard black substance. The edges and corners are slightly worn and there are vertical creases along the left edge. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
