MAISON ROLLAND Victorian Trade Card - "LA TORÉADOR BLESSÉ" - boy bullfighters
Description: Victorian Trade Card - MAISON ROLLAND - La Rochelle, France
Humorous French advertising card featuring a group of boys pretending to be bullfighters. In this one, the boy playing the matador apparently got the worst of the fight, as he's bent over with a steady stream of blood pouring from his nose. The card is captioned "LA TORÉADOR BLESSÉ". This is card number "4" in the series.
The back provides the location of department store, along with some of the categories of goods that could be purchased there.
Size: approx. 3.125" x 4.5"
Date: Not dated.
Lithographer: H. Laas, Paris
Condition: Good, I'd say. The front of this card is only lightly soiled, while the back has some glue staining from prior scrapbook mounting. The edges and corners are just a bit rough. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
