LION COFFEE Victorian Trade Card - Midsummer - birds, butterfly, flowers, lake
Description: Victorian Trade Card - LION COFFEE - Woolson Spice Co., Toledo, Ohio
Here's an attractive vintage advertising card offered as a "Midsummer Greeting". It features a couple of birds (redstarts?), a butterfly, and a bouquet of multi-colored flowers. Beside them is a landscape scene with mountains, trees and a small lake or pond.
The back carries the company's standard advertising with the profile of a lion and a branch of flowers.
Size: approx. 5.375" x 6.875"
Date: Not dated
Lithographer: Bufford
Condition: Poor, I'd say. This card is rather dirty and stained, with slightly worn edges and corners. There are small, sharp creases at both lower corners. There's a tack hole in one of the white flowers. The back has a fair amount of rather gritty glue residue and large areas of surface paper loss, along with a surface tear at the right edge. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
