Handmade Khachkar carved in felsite a very fine-grained volcanic rock. The cross stone inspired by all the ornaments found throughout the Noravank Monastery and from the same stone used to build the walls which are also call the stone of Momik.
For Armenians, such symbols are Khachkars – stone steles with the depiction of a cross, which have no analogs in the world and in Armenian ‘khach’ means a cross, and ‘kar’ a stone. The history of the origin of these cross-stones dates back to many years ago and is connected with the adoption of Christianity in 301.
