ILLINOIS 68 - "Marking 150 Years on the Nation's Frontier"- Newspaper Supplement
Description: February 4, 1968 - ILLINOIS 68 - "Marking 150 Years on the Nation's Frontier" - Newspaper Supplement
Here's a very interesting historical newspaper supplement promoting the state of Illinois in 1968, marking its 150th anniversary of statehood. Along with a calendar of events for 1968, it includes a wealth of short essays covering such topics as: "THE PEOPLE, THE LAND", "ARTS, SCIENCE, ENTERTAINMENT", and "COMMERCE, BUSINESS, INDUSTRY". There are also many advertisements from Illinois businesses, both congratulating the state on its birthday and touting the advantages of doing business in the state.
The essays focus both on Iliinois' hitory and its future, and include such notable authors as: Carl Sandburg, Everett Dirksen, Newton Minow, and more than two dozen others.
Please see a sampling of the pages, above, to get a sense of the scope of this publication.
Actual Size: 64 pages, approx. 13" x 10¾"
Date: February 4, 1968
Condition: Very good, I'd say. The publication is quite clean, with some slight toning of the newsprint and a little bit of roughness and tiny tears along the edges. It is still securely bound with two staples.
**NOTE**: Shipping charges are discounted when more than one of my items are purchased at the same time. See what else I have to offer!
