1903 RAPHAEL TUCK French Post Card - swallows
Description: Here's a colorful antique French postcard by Raphael Tuck & Fils of Paris, featuring a quartet of swallows perched on a wire. Beneath the birds is a pastoral country scene with a river flowing past a small village with flowering pink trees. A small sailboat glides by on the river.
The card is identified in the lower left as "Série2 3".
The card is used and postmarked in July, '03, from Maroilles.
Size: approx. 3.5" x 5.5"
Date: Not explicitly dated, but the postmark indicates it was used in 1903.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The front of the card is somewhat speckled, probably from long-term contact with a facing card in a postcard album. The upper left and lower right corners also carry faint diagonal impressions from such album storage. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
