Realized with the "freezing technique" to obtain the ice effect in some areas of the pictorial surface, this technique consisted in placing the still fresh painting in the real cold and then working it later. This effect was invented by the painter Pancaldi and occurs in many of his works especially in the maturity phase.Author: Gaetano Pancaldi (Piumazzo of Castelfranco Emilia, 1922-2014). The representation of nature and daily life were among the subjects preferred by the artist who was very active and well-known in the Modena area due to his activity as graphic poster designer for the Communist Party of Modena and the numerous exhibitions held.
