Summary: This book is against the evils of the bottle. Book was sold at lectures which took place nationwide and looks at alcoholic drinks from a national point of view. From an old advertisement: “This book gives a full description of the system of malting, fermentation, and brewing, all of which are well and properly illustrated. The diagram and explanations supply the reader with a large amount of useful knowledge. We advise every Temperance reformer to purchase it.” This statement was from the Temperance Record.
Condition: Softcover, Ex-lib usual marks and stamps. Front cover, fly, title page and content page are all lose from the rest of the volume. Covers are worn, soiled and frayed at edges. Spine edge is chipped with pieces missing. Text is pulling some but still intact, many bent corner tips Some light age discoloring thru out text. But still a readable copy of a very old book.
