1940s/1950s Vintage Handcrafted Wooden Toy Car - Gray & Black
Here's a really nifty old handcrafted wooden toy car from around 1950. It's painted gray with a removable black and red hard top and black wheels (including a "spare tire"). The "occupants" of the car are two green-painted dowels that are removable.
I assume this car was created from a common pattern that was available to woodworkers in the late 1940s or early 1950s, perhaps through a magazine or book.
Size: approx. 8"L x 3½"W x 3"H
Condition: Very good, I'd say. It's a toy that was clearly played with so it has some dirt and wear, but not much. It has all original paint, which is slightly chipped here and there (please see photos). The car has all its original parts and it still rolls easily. All in all, a nice example of a half-century-old handcrafted wooden toy.
