1967 US Navy Ship Cover - USS GRAND CANYON (AD-28) - Cacheted
Here's a nice cacheted cover for the U.S. Navy ship USS Grand Canyon. As far as I know, it doesn't commemorate any specific event, although it was obviously canceled on Pearl Harbor day.
Postmarked: HC - U S S GRAND CANYON (AD-28) - December 7, 1967 (The back also has the ship's regular machine cancel with wavy killer bars, as well as its purple registry CDS from NEW YORK.)
Cachet: Generic purple rubber-stamped design with a couple of tiny anchors and text reading: "The IMPORTANCE of the NAVY is INCREASING"
Condition: Generally clean, but with a couple of tiny spots near the upper left corner; neatly label addressed.
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 covers for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 covers, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional covers.
