1970s CREIGHTON'S RESTAURANT, Fort Lauderdale, FLORIDA Postcards (2)
Here are 2 nice postcards featuring Creighton's Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. One card features an exterior view of the building at dusk while the other is an interior view of one of the dining rooms.
The description on the backs of both cards is the same and reads:
Million dollar antique display. Open daily all year. Four dining rooms. The Sevres, the Venetian, the Gazebo and the Cybis Room serve continuously from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Ample parking for yachts or automobiles. Service is excellent. One of the finest restaurants in America. All the food is good and the "World's Best Apple Pie" is served. Cocktails are recommended in our Fantasy Lounge.
Southern style cooking. All foods prepared and cooked in our own kitchen. Hot rolls and pastry made in our own bake shop. Unusually large variety of foods to choose from.
Lunch: $1.00-$2.50 Dinner: $1.35-$3.50. Recommended by everybody as America's showplace. Phone: 564-3246 Area Code 305
The cards were both produced by Tom Neel Color Cards of Fort Lauderdale. The first one shown bears the code number 122980, while the second one is marked 97465.
Size: 3½" x 5½"
Date: Not dated, but based on the prices given I'd guess they're from the 1970s or earlier.
Condition: Very good, I'd say. The cards are both clean with generally sharp edges. However, they have impressions in the top edge which look like they were made by a paper clip. That has also caused some rubbing of the blue sky area in the exterior view card. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. (This lot includes 2 cards.) For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
