BEDELL Store (New York?) Victorian Trade Card - Rebecca Coleman winged angel design
Description: Victorian Trade Card - BEDELL - Sixth Avenue
Very nice old advertising card for BEDELL, a store on Sixth Avenue (New York?) that seemed to specialize in underwear and home decor. There is no advertising on the front of the card, which features one of the beautiful winged angel illustrations, originally drawn by Rebecca Coleman in 1880. However, her signature does not appear anywhere on this version.
The back provides the store's street address, though no city is identified. It also promotes Gauze Underwear, Full Regular Made Hose, Assorted Corsets, Curtain Ends and Japanese Goods.
Size: approx. 4½" x 2¾"
Date: Not dated
Lithographer: Not identified.
Condition: Excellent, I'd say. The illustration on the front is obviously printed off-center, but the card is only lightly soiled, with fairly sharp edges and corners. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
