Victorian Trade Card - Arbuckle Brothers Coffee Company - "17th (Duke of Cambridge's Own) Lancers"
SERIES: Miscellany - Unnumbered (aka: General Subjects, General Interest, Artistic, etc.)
This is one of 100 miscellaneous unnumbered cards advertising the "Ariosa" brand of coffee that Arbuckles' issued in the late 1880s. This card shows a soldier in a fancy dress black uniform with plumed hat, red belt, and long sword, leaning on his lance.
The back carries Arbuckles' familiar "4 Points" sales pitch.
SIZE: 4.875" x 2.875" (trimmed)
DATE: Undated (but probably 1888 or 1889)
LITHOGRAPHER: Geo. S. Harris & Sons
CONDITION: Fair, I'd say. This card is lightly soiled with a few small scrapes on the front and multiple areas of surface paper loss on the back. It has also been slightly trimmed by about 1/16" on all four sides. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
