1949 Original REAL Biker's MOTORCYCLE / Bike Club LEATHER Horsehide Riding Jacket, Size 36 Genuine Horsehide, re-lined and Awesome 4 riders, and Yes, I did pay over $150.oo in 1993 having it completely disassembled, re-lined and re-stitched BY HAND (Yes, through the Same Original stitching holes), with the new liner! I acquired this as a 'hand-me-down' from an uncle (true biker type, in the early '50's) after he passed away in the '80's, he's worn this thing for decades, riding first a triumph, then a BSA, then Nortons, then a Beemer (sorry Harley fans, he thought they weren't reliable....this from an ENGLISH Bike owner!) I had it completely re-done for a new wife, to ride on the back of my bike, and she wore it for a couple years in the winters here in FL. Fit her well as at a 9-10 size and the folks that restored it for me told me it measured out at a Men's Size 36 Short per measurements. Want to live in a James Dean / Marlon Brando era time traveling Leather/Horsehide Biker's Jacket? More of a Peter Fonda, Jack Nicholson & Dennis Hopper Easy Rider Fan? Well here's Your Chance!
Yes, the Right Sleeve is shows quite a bit of wear and the center top section across the back is also showing serious wear including an actual hole about the size of a quarter (pictured) right at the exact top of the shoulder blade. Welcome to a Leather Jacket from 1949!
Why are we selling? I'm an EMT, Marge is a Nurse and after the umpteenth vehicle vs. bike related accident that she drove up on where You know who, was a victim & passed away in her arms, I was requested to sell the bikes, and being an understanding Husband, did so, never looking back. Now these jackets have been sitting in the 'spare bedroom closet' for over a decade.....tick-tock; I'd rather they were in the hands of, and on the backs of folks who'd give them another lifetime of enjoyment.
Just went through the spare bedroom closet, started shaking my head and decided to post this one up, along with one I have from AMEX, a Vietnam Era Field Jacket, a Fighter Pilot's Leather Flight Jacket from the Korean Conflict Korea, and more; they're all getting listed (in S. Florida, aside Being on a bike, these are never needed here).
