Autographed letter signed (ALS) from radio and stage actress Elaine Melchior. It dates from 1935.
Elaine Melchior's Broadway credits include Three Little Girls (1930), Nina Rosa (1930) and One Act Variety Theatre (1940). She is best known for playing Ardala Varmala, the evil adventuress in the popular radio science-fiction adventure serial Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1932-36; 1939-40; 1946-47).
Letter is on personal stationery with return address/dated "485 Madison Ave., C.B.S., New York, N.Y., Oct. 31, 1935: Dear Mr. 'Chaw' Mank: I am sending you a whole 'slew' of pictures. I unfortunately have not the pose you request. You may be able to get it from the Columbia publicity department. Sincerely Elaine Melchior." Comes in signed hand-addressed envelope by Elaine postmarked Grand Cent. Annex, Nov. 25, 1935.
Letter is in crisp excellent+ condition. Rare autograph (actually two autographs here, on the letter and envelope) from the Golden Age of Radio. Written from C.B.S. in New York – the radio network that originated the Buck Rogers serial in 1932.
