ENCO Gasoline "Happy Motoring" - 1960s(?) Vintage Matchbook Cover
Description: Here's an interesting vintage standard-sized matchbook cover advertising Humble Oil Company's ENCO gasoline, which was one of the predecessors to today's EXXON. It's slogan was "Happy Motoring!".
There's no printing on the inside.
Produced by Superior Match Co., Chicago, U.S.A.
Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but appears to me to be from the 1960s
Condition: Just good, I'd say. The cover is somewhat dirty, although the striker strip doesn't appear to show any evidence of actual use. However, the striker strip area does have significant damage resulting from the rough removal of the staple that held the matches. There's also an additional set of staple holes which pass through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
**NOTE**: Shipping charges are discounted when more than one of my items are purchased at the same time. See what else I have to offer!
