PEOPLES FEDERAL SAVINGS & LOAN - Chicago, Illinois - Vintage Matchbook Cover
Description: Here's a vintage standard-sized matchbook cover from the Peoples Federal Savings and Loan Association of Chicago, Illinois. It was located on West 18th Street and the phone number was given in the old style of "HAymarket 1-5500".
The inside has a drawing of a vault and says to "Protect Your Valuables & Important Papers / Safety Deposit Boxes NOW Available".
Produced by Match Corp of America, Chicago
Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but the old-style phone number probably places it in the 1950s, or perhaps early 1960s.
Condition: Fair, I'd say. The cover is somewhat soiled and worn, and there's some damage to the striker strip area from removal of the staple that held the matches. There's also a piece missing from the corner of the striker strip and an additional set of staple holes which pass through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
**NOTE**: Shipping charges are discounted when more than one of my items are purchased at the same time. See what else I have to offer!
