MARY HACKETT'S - Duxbury, Massachusetts - 1950s(?) Vintage Matchbook Cover
Description: Here's a vintage standard-sized matchbook cover from Mary Hackett's, a restaurant located on Route 14 in Duxbury, Massachusetts. The place called itself "A Quaint Little House Serving Delicious Food!" and Cocktails. The phone number is given simply as "MARSHFIELD 1045".
There's no printing on the inside.
Produced by The Ohio Match Co., Wadsworth, Ohio
Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but that old-style phone number probably puts in the 1950s or earlier.
Condition: Just fair, I'd say. The cover is clean but the background appears to be faded. (See the lower right corner for what I think is the original bluish color.) The striker strip area is severely damaged, likely from rough removal of the staple that held the matches. There's also an additional set of staple holes which through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
**NOTE**: Shipping charges are discounted when more than one of my items are purchased at the same time. See what else I have to offer!
