Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles Sandelfo Dish by Herman Sanders
Wonderful collectible hand painted small dish made by Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles. One of the famous painters at the factory was Herman Sanders who designed a number of pieces for the company. This rare little dish is in what is called Sandelfo painted in black, gray and white. The costume is worn by the women of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Mr. Sanders painted different traditional costume plates for different parts of the country.
Each piece made carries the full factory markings, which includes the factory mark, item number, artist's initials, and the date code, which on this little plate is 1962.
This piece is approximately 4 inches in diameter. Very good condition other than a scratch over her left eye which is not really noticable. Also some crazing which is not unusual for older Delft.
