Signed WILD CALIFORNIA-VANISHING LANDS, VANISHING WILDLIFE A S Leopold T A Blake
Offered is a copy of A. Starker Leopold's posthumous work, WILD CALIFORNIA: Vanishing Lands, Vanishing Wildlife, with photography by Tupper Ansel Blake. This book was published in cooperation with the Nature Conservancy, and is filled with beautiful images. This copy is signed to a previous owner by photographer Blake.
Unfortunately this copy was subject to some kind of water damage which has affected the lower, mostly inside (spine side) portion of the last 45 pages or so of the book, the dust cover and back end papers (though interestingly the actual cover appears to be unaffected). The majority of the damage takes the form of waves in the paper, with some minor staining of the dust cover from the cloth used to make the cover. Other than this, the book seems sound, the binding is tight, pages are fairly clean. The dust cover shows what I might call shelf wear; some loss of gloss due to contact with other volumes on a shelf and some damage along the edges, a few very small tears near the spine and minor rubbing along the outer edges.
Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for considering this book!

Synopsis
This is a stunning photographic guide to the six major California regions--from the Sierra Nevada to the desert--and their wildlife. In a highly readable style that mingles authority and eloquence, Leopold reminds us of the aesthetic, educational, and scientific values of undeveloped land.
