Between October 13 through November 2, 1994, Global Exchange presented Dance of the Ancestors, an art exhibit and event. The image, in orange and green, is very psychedelic; the picture above doesn't do the poster justice.
The exhibit was held at the the Berkeley Store Gallery on Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley with Ancestor Altars of Puerto Rico, Vietnam and Mexico, along with other Arts and Crafts.
On Friday, October 28th from 7 PM to 1:30 AM at California Ballroom in Oakland there was a special event. This featured Food and Craft booths with live music and dance. Music was provided by Kotoja, Azucar y Crema, The Oakland Youth Chorus, Los Cenzontles, Betho Filho, Ydade and Fagbemi John Turpin.
This poster is new, never displayed, and has no holes or tears. There are some minor dings; most of them fall within the image, a few along the edges. The most significant flaw is on the upper left hand side of the poster, near the top of the image. The majority of the damage could be minimized in framing the piece. A good mat would cover the edges; mounting on some backing would decrease the value but would really smooth the surface of the paper if the buyer wanted that. Overall, the poster is in pretty good condition, in my opinion.
Postage quoted includes a poster tube, by USPS first class mail, with delivery confirmation. If the buyer wants to make other arrangements about the shipping materials or rates, please send an email. I am willing to combine shipping on a case-by-case basis, on purchases made within an agreed period of time.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for considering this poster!
