Kerouac & Kerouac The Legacy was a series of events to raise funds to help the only child of Jack Kerouac, Jan, to pay the health costs related to kidney failure and to pay the legal costs of her fight to preserve her father's literary legacy. The outcome of the legal battle can be read about here: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/08/15/DD8J193T9B.DTL unfortunately Jan died before seeing any resolution.
The first event, held at San Francisco's Roxie Theater, featured the film KEROUAC with a special introduction by the documentary's director and one of its writers, John Antonelli http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089410/ followed by readings of their own work by Jan Kerouac and Toby Lurie with ruth weiss. Eileen Kaufman read from her husband, Bob Kaufman's work to the musical accompaniment of Miriam Halliday Borkowski, and there was open discussion with the audience at the end. This is a copy of the poster issued by the Roxie Cinema to advertise this screening.
This poster is new, taken from the bin on the front of the theater in Mar, 1995. Measuring 10 5/8" x 16 3/8", the poster is printed black ink on white stock, of about the same weight as typing paper. This poster is related to the "Kerouac the Legacy" mailing flyer I am offering at this time, so please take a look at my other items.
