GROW #1 12-0-12
The Grow #1 provides nitrate nitrogen, potassium, and calcium. Some plant varieties and growth conditions respond best to non-ammoniacal nitrate nitrogen formulas. This mix is specially blended to provide additional nitrogen for the foliage stage of leaf and stem growth. Grow #1 contains nitrate nitrogen which makes it especially desirable for steady, compact, dark green growth. Use for house plants, other long term plants, and for plants growing in low light conditions. This formula is often preferred for rockwool mediums, to maintain a stable nutrient pH. Grow #1 also provides high calcium, often deficient in other commercially available fertilizers. Use Grow #1 in combination with MicroBase, Grow #2 and Bloom #3 as desired. As separate components, the Genesis Formula system facilitates the capability to easily vary the nitrogen levels in your nutrient mixes.
This formula additive was developed to work in conjunction with its counter parts, the Micro-Base, Grow # 2 and Bloom # 3 formulas. We have provided two Grow additives because there are two distinctive types of nitrogen commonly used for plant nutrient. Nitrate nitrogen (NO3-N) and ammonium nitrogen (NH4-N). This formula contains only nitrate nitrogen. Nitrate promotes steady, compact, bushy, dark green growth. Nitrate becomes available at a moderate rate making it an excellent nitrogen choice for house plants or long term crops or plant materials with a tight or compact structure. Discourages succulence or elongation particularly under low light conditions. Nitrogen stimulates lush leaf and foliage development. Nitrate nitrogen is often desired for rockwool, because it does not react with medium and remains PH stable. Potassium included to enhance nitrogen and promote healthy stem and root development. Also provides calcium which is often deficient in other commercially available nutrients.
Below is the "Guaranteed Analysis" as shown on the label. Let's face it, most people don't know how to interpret these and don't really care. But it is important to make this information available. Later if you are interested we will tell you how to use this information.
The Genesis Formula comes as a saturated paste concentrate. You simply add water and shake it up. This is so we can save you money. We figure you have water, so why should we ship water all over the world. The percentages shown on the bottle represent the values of the paste, we call it mush. So after you add the water these percentages change. Below you will see the real deal. These are the values after dilution. These are also the values of the pure elements, without any other ions included. Also you will see the actual PPM of each element when one millimeter (5 ml = 1 tsp) is added to a US gallon (3785 ml) of water. That's kind of nice to know even if you aren't a chemist.
