  • Description
One of the most controversial woman writers of her era, Anais Nin in some ways is more knows for her friendship with Henry Miller than her own writings. For many people she is a 3 letter word in a crossword puzzle. For those who venture into her substantial body of work, she is a deeply passionate woman who wrote from the inside out. Not one to write stories about what she saw, she wrote about what she experienced and the people who shared the experiences.

Unable to get published, Nin in her early days created her own publishing house and published her own works and those of other underground writers in Paris where she was born in a nearby suburb in 1903. She died in California in 1977.

The diaries which she began as a small child are presented here in the edited version published while both she and her first husband were still alive. Her second husband published an unexpurgated version after the death of Nin and Hugo.

The diaries were published in soft cover by The Swallow Press and Harcourt Brace & World, Inc. Harvest Book edition. They were edited and introduced by Gunther Stuhlmann.

This is Volume 3 of The Diary of Anais Nin, 1939-1944. It was copyrighted in 1969 and is 327 pages. Book is clean and in near mint condition.
