Very interesting 47-year-old cacheted cover commemorating the Centennial of the First National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic. It was produced by the Company D (100th Eagle Regiment New York Volunteers) Cover Club of Tonawanda, N.Y.

Cachet: Reddish-purple cachet depicting a G.A.R. veterans' medal with an eagle, 13-star flag, and 5-pointed star. Text reads: "1866-1966 / OFFICIAL CACHET / Company D Cover Club / 100th - Eagle - Regiment / Tonawanda, N.Y. 14150" and "Centennial / of the / First / National / Encampment / G. A. R. / November 20, 1866 / Indianapolis, Indiana".
