1974(?) CUSTOMS TODAY - U.S. Customs Service Newsletter - Boston Customhouse
Description: Here's an interesting edition of "Customs Today", the official employee magazine (or newsletter) of the U.S. Customs Service branch of the Department of the Treasury. This was a quarterly publication but no specific date is given for this issue, although it's marked as "Vol. 10, No. 2" and is titled as a "Special Bicentennial Edition". Since it features ceremonies that marked the designation of the Boston Customhouse as a historic landmark on December 14, 1973, I'm assuming that this was probably printed in 1974.
In addition to several articles about the Boston Customhouse, there is also a very interesting article about a historic symbol, "CXIII", which apparently was used to mark government-issued tools beginning in 1776, in order to discourage employee theft! There are numerous black-and-white photos, mostly related to the Boston Customhouse.
Condition: Excellent, I'd say. The magazine is very clean, with no creases, tears, or extraneous marks.
**NOTE**: Shipping charges are discounted when more than one of my items are purchased at the same time. See what else I have to offer!
