1871 - United States Revenue Stamp - 4¢ Proprietary (Sc. #RB4) - Used
Description: Here's a nice old U.S. Revenue stamp for the "back-of-the-book" collector, a 4¢ Proprietary stamp which I believe is Scott Catalog #RB4 from 1871. However, I'm not an expert on stamps like this, so please use the hi-res scan to verify my identification for yourself.
Condition: Used, with minor flaws as shown. (NOTE: The stamp was in a stock sheet when it was scanned, so the thin black line across the upper portion is simply the top edge of the acetate strip that's holding it.)
Since I'm NOT a professional stamp dealer or grader, I've scanned both sides of the stamp at a fairly high resolution to enable you to make your own judgment as to condition.
