RARE CAST IRON VIOLIN-SHAPED GATE LOCK
Late 19th-Early 20th Century
15-1/8 inches (38.4 cm) high
Body is decorated with incised patterns and the locking mechanidsm slides along the J-bolt, a keyhole at the center fitted with the original working iron key that is included. We inherited this piece from my husbands grandmother. We have only come across one other lock like this and it was being sold through an auction gallery for over $800.
