CORINTHIAN sterling JELLY SPOON originally by J. POLHEMUS and later by SHIEBLER - Marked "JP" for John Polhemus, "Pat. 55" - P monogram on back, 6.75 inches long. 1.16 ozt.
DESCRIPTION: VERY GOOD CONDITION -- This piece pre-dates those made by Shiebler. The marks indicate this was made by the J. Polhemus company circa 1855. Shiebler purchased the Polhemus company in the 1870s, which is the period when the Shiebler-marked pieces were made. There are no dings, dents, or bends but a series of very small nicks near the tip of the bowl. This is a much rarer piece than the sugar shell and would make an excellent addition to your Corinthian set.
PRICE : $295, plus insured shipping (US).
