This is a fascinating and scarce antique historical book with a full-page map at the front and a fold-out color map in good condition for the age at the back. It is entitled "The Book of Ser Marco Polo the Venetian," Concerning the Kingdoms and Marvels of the East, edited by George B. Parks, published by The Book League of America, New York, 1929, with 392 pages. This title and edition is very rare except in new reprints, and has sold in the past in worse condition for $75 to $150.
The folding color map depicts parts of the Middle East, Africa, Far East, and Southeast Asia showing geographic names of the time, Medieval names in gothic, and land and sea routes of Marco Polo and also John of Pian de Carpine 1245-1247 and William of Rubruck (Rubruquis) 1253-1255. There is one small centimeter-sized edge tear at the crease by the spine that does not detract. Overall in very good bright, crisp, colorful condition.
