Impatiens mengtzseana 3 Unrooted Cuttings CHINA APRICOT Z7 HARDY Exquisite Large Flower
Impatiens mengtzseana
What a beguiling exquisite Jewelweed! Hailing from China and rarely available, Impatiens mengtzseana is a treat for those who enjoys pastel colors. In California, this is evergreen, a sprawling creeper that can work in both hanging baskets or as a ground cover. Blooms from summer till frost with fairly large, orchid-like flowers that are just beautiful. Each bloom is a light yellow with pastel apricot "lips", contrasted by orangy veining inside the throat and on the outside sides. They just take my breath away with their beauty. Supposedly hardy from zone 7 onwards, but it is relatively new, so take precaution if you think this might not be hardy for you. 8" tall, 3 feet wide. Part shade. Rich, moist but well-drained soil. Regular watering.
Cuttings picture taken on 11/02/2011.
Easy to root the last time we tried. However, please note that Impatiens are very fragile and sometimes do not travel well. If we have a plant available, you might want to consider that rather than cuttings; and also, if you would like to do express overnight shipping, do let us know.
